Midge Ure – 1980 – Vienna & Visage | Royal & Derngate | 19:00

The 1980 Tour reminds us that these things are possible. Both ‘Vienna’ and ‘Visage’ were the sound of the future… and yet still sound unearthly, romantic, impossibly beautiful and full of promise. Brought to life by Midge Ure and Band Electronica, this is the very first time in the 40 years since it was made that the ‘Vienna’ album will be performed in its entirety. It is also the first time that many of the songs from the debut Visage album will be played live.

Marc from the park an act that has soaked up 18 festival seasons of fun and created his own genre called Ambient Gabba. He’s played at events all over the shop including Boomtown Fair, Glastonbury and some legendary independent music venues. He played his first gig at 27 in 2015 and has gone from strength to strength since. Aiming to win the Xfactor by 2028 and aspires to be a parking warden.

The Rezillos | Roadmender| 19:00

AGMP Concerts presents. The Rezillos “Rezillomania” Tour + special guests. The Rezillos formed in 1976 through a shared love of Sixties Garage Rock and the Spectoresque Girl Group glam of The Ronettes and The Shangri-Las. Their debut single, “I Can’t Stand My Baby”, shot them to underground fame initially via airings on BBC Radio 1 John Peel’s radio show. Their classic singles “My Baby Does Good Sculptures”, “Top of the Pops” and “Destination Venus” followed shortly afterwards. Their landmark album of 1978 “Can’t Stand the Rezillos” reached the top 10 in the UK album chart. They appeared twice on the legendary Old Grey Whistle Test and hit the Top Twenty with their hit single ‘Top of the Pops’. The live recording, “Mission Accomplished… But the Beat Goes On”, LP swiftly followed before the band promptly broke up to the anguish of fans and music critics alike. The Rezillos reformed recently and toured the UK as special guests of The Stranglers promoting their first album in 36 years, the critically acclaimed “Zero”.

 

A Night Of Local Music | Picturedrome | 20:00

A Night Of Local Music from Whiteroom, Slim 47 & Frettlyst. Three top bands will get together to play top party covers throughout the night. Whiteroom are a four piece band that specialize in contemporary Rock & Pop music. They play the finest blend of chart toppers from over the last 30 years from artists such as: Kings of Leon, Blink 182, U2, Stereophonics, Ed Sheeran, Greenday, The Calling, Red Hot Chili Peppers and many more! Slim 47, Slim 47 are an indie/rock covers band based in Northampton. They play up to date tracks from bands like the Foo Fighters, Oasis, Queens Of The Stone Age, and Killers to name just a few. Slim 47 has built a reputation as being one of the best cover bands around. With their full on set consisting of the biggest indie/rock hits from the past two decades. Frettlyst, Frettlyst are a 5 piece indie rock band from Kettering, UK. Originally starting life as a two piece acoustic duo Loz (vocals) and Brett (guitar) regular played in venues around Northamptonshire. Over a few years they recruited their drummer Tommy, rhythm guitarist Dan and bass player Steve. They have played together for over a year playing in Northamptonshire while working on their original material. Their style pulls inspirations from creamy classic rock solos and up beat modern indie rock genre, these boys will have you rocking out in no time at all. They take their influences from band such as, Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes, Kings, Oasis, The Smiths and Jimi Hendrix. Each band will play a 1 hour set!

The Twinfest Road to Marburg bus, pulls up to the Lamplighter on Saturday the 22nd of February…and it’s packed full of awesome Northamptonioness in the shape of the fabulously gorgeous Phantom Isle, Rolling Thunder and Jack vs Hotdog. It’s a free event and it will be absolutely rammed in there, so don’t miss out! All money raised by Twinfest goes back into providing Transportation, accommodation and food etc for Our bands we take to Germany and France, and our visiting guests from our sister towns…so please get involved and make this one a right banger! And it’s the 25th anniversary year, so keep you eyes peeled for some brilliant Twinfest events in 2020.

Askari | Flash Peasants | The Lab | 20:00

The Lab is proud to bring back Askari an electronic, nu-metal, grime collective from two vastly different corners of the UK. Born out of several late-night freestyle studio sessions between producer James Routh and lyricist Asher Baker, ASKARI seamlessly merge the distinct sounds of raw, guttural grime and punchline-packed hip hop with guitar-laden garage rock and down-tuned metal to create a monster. An obnoxious, outrageously loud monster. Backed by the raucous, chugging riffs of Liam Carroll and the destructive beats of “Iron” Aiden Baldwin, ASKARI pull no punches throwing walls of sound around any size venue and spitting vitriolic lyrics squarely in the face of absolutely everybody ever. Support comes from Flash Peasants, Hip-Hop meets punk from Corby, Planet Earth. Tories Out.
