MADE IN NORTHAMPTON

A PICK OF NORTHAMPTON'S FINEST ON THE SCENE RIGHT NOW

The Big Dirty

Introducing Sex Rock. The Big Dirty have redefined the genre of glam/hair rock and roll. Big by sound, dirty by nature. With sleazy, libidinous riffs and catchy lyrics of a carnal, lustful nature, The Big Dirty are bound to have you hot under the collar. But it doesn’t end there, the Big Dirty have a massive live stage presence, clad in leopard spandex and armed with a whiskey cannon, they deliver a full bodied performance that involves the audience. These guys are best served live and turned up loud. Welcome to Sex Rock City, where you can check out anytime you like, but you can certainly never leave.

Rolling Thunder

Rolling Thunder are another young band making waves on the local circuit , since emerging at the break of last year and it’s clear to see why with their infectious indie anthems. The five piece have had a busy few months since their raucous performance at this years Twinfest in the summer. Supporting The Barratts, The Marabar Caves, The Totals Stone Roses and Camens, a touring band from Stoke. They will also be representing Northampton at next year’s MaNo music festival in Germany. Alongside Phantom Isle and Jack vs Hotdog, who opened this years King of Hearts festival with a blinding set. I expect we’ll see big things from them in 2020. Tune in to Shoetown Sounds, on 20th Dec, from 7-8pm where the boys will be live in the studio for our Christmas Special, only  on NLive 106.9FM and online at nliveradio.com

The Candidates

Milton Keynes based band, The Candidates are veterans on the local scene delivering their original, upbeat indie, rock and roll to local fans at festivals and events such as The Grey Dog festival, and regularly playing to large audiences at Silverstone, The Crauford Arms and The Bedford Esquires. The band are launching new EP Bring It On, with a celebratory launch gig at The Cannon in Newport Pagnell on 1st Feb with another gig at Roadmender on 2nd Feb, as part of Independent Venues Week with The Barratts, The Keepers, Garden and Century City.
