“2019 has been a whole lot of fun. We played over 50 shows, released our two most popular singles to date and picked up BBC Introducing Radio 1 Track of the Week back in March! It’s been amazing seeing UK wide support building for the band and we’re super grateful for everyone’s continued support! Some personal highlights for me would be Neverworld, Dials Festival and of course of Roadmender headline show in April! We enjoy playing all of our gigs but coming home for a Northampton show is always a favourite because it blows my mind seeing so many people dancing and singing alongside us!” Sarpa Salpa
Sarpa Salpa have added some girl power to the mix with the addition of Meg who beady eye local music fans will recognise from previous bands OhBoy! and Future Love. “We’ve known Meg for a few years at this point from OhBoy! to Future Love to a brief to synth-pop band that Ethan (bass) was also involved in. She’s lovely and super talented, bringing her on board has been a great decision! She’s brought a whole new dynamic the band and has helped us to really step-up our live show by allowing us to play the songs the way they were designed to be played (with 5 instruments). Also on the live front having Meg on board has given Marcus (vocals/guitar) a lot more freedom as a frontman meaning he’s not constantly stuck at the keys and can explore the stage!”
“We’re very excited too! The Roadmender show on the 27th December will be the Release Show for our debut EP ‘Say Something’ which will be released on January 3rd 2020. We’ve been working on this for some time now and we’ve very excited for people to hear it” Sarpa Salpa
The EP includes live favourites Say Something, Lost Time & Paralysed as well as our recent single Before It Goes Dark and an acoustic version of Casanova”.
You can expect to see a lot more from Sarpa Salpa in 2020 with the upcoming “Say Something” Tour with dates stretching up and down the country beginning in January.
