FRESHLY SQUEEZED: FEBRUARY 2026

A run through of February’s new releases

LAME

Who Needs Time?

LAME deliver a jittery jolt of indie-punk urgency on Who Needs Time?, a track that sprints forward on scratchy guitars, punchy drums and a vocal that sounds permanently on the brink of combustion. There’s a restless, clock-watching anxiety baked into every line, yet the hook lands with sharp, shout-along clarity. Breathless, scrappy and wired on caffeine, it refuses to sit still.

wülvs

Dirge Disco

wülvs storm back from the ashes of ÜLV with the title track of their debut EP, Dirge Disco, a filthy, hyper-fuzzed stomp of bass and broken-radio guitar that snarls with uncompromising intensity. Behind The Door forms the B-Side, a track that reworks an old ÜLV number into a wall of Lemmy-style fuzz and gothic doom. But it’s thesp opener that sets the tone — relentless, pummelling and raw. A noise-rock Motörhead roar from the first blast.

The Molotovs

Rhythm Of Yourself

Rhythm Of Yourself, is a defiant announcement from The Molotovs. It’s a jagged, high-energy blast of punk-infused garage rock that snarls from the first riff. Propulsive drums and razor-sharp guitars drive a vocal teetering between grit and swagger, while the chorus lingers long after the track ends. The track forms the lead single from their debut album Wasted On Youth, which is currently going head-to-head with Lily Allen in the national charts. Its release follows a string of sold-out UK dates, including a recent Independent Venue Week show at the Black Prince. Brash, urgent and unapologetically alive.

Rolla

Breaking Out

Rolla hit the ground running on “Breaking Out, a taut, adrenaline-fuelled burst of indie-rock that refuses to hang about. Crunching guitars and propulsive drums drive the track forward, while vocals skate between defiance and exhilaration. Clocking in under three minutes, it’s punchy, immediate and impossible to ignore. Its a perfect shot of energy that cements Rolla as one of Manchester’s most exciting new acts. The band recently performed as part of the IVW lineup at The Black Prince.

The Clause

Shut Me Out

The Clause deliver a punchy, atmospheric jolt on Shut Me Out, the latest single from their Victim Of A Casual Thing album. Swirling guitars and taut percussion underpin vocals that move between tension and release, giving the track a brooding intensity. Fresh off a sold-out Independent Venue Week show at The Black Prince, the band prove they can command a room and a record in equal measure — dark, propulsive and impossible to ignore.
